Arie Ammann’s growth into one of the most promising boys’ goalkeepers in the Mid-Atlantic region might seem like a natural progression, given his father Mike’s successful professional career as a netminder for English club Charlton Athletic and three Major League Soccer clubs from 1994-2002.

Please join us in our Saves for Malia program to support our friend and teammate, Malia Juszcyk in her fight against stage 4 Neuroblastoma.

Your support of our goalkeepers will go directly to the Malia Crushes Cancer fund to off-set her growing medical costs and show her that she has a world of fans supporting her fight.  Together we can all make a difference.  Malia continues to inspire many people with her courage and strength and it is our turn to return the favor.

Pledge a dollar amount for every save your goalkeeper makes this fall season or even a flat fee that will go directly to Malia’s fund.  Our goalkeepers will have an added incentive for keeping the ball out of the back of their net as they know each save counts for Malia.  Additional prizes and scholarships are being offered from 247GK to our goalkeepers that are involved in this program.

In late October 247GK and Malia Crushes Cancer will also be hosting an online auction right on our website. This season’s 247GK Summer Goalkeeper Camp was a huge success! Thank you parents for allowing us the priveledge to work with these fine kids. “It was hot, but the kids worked hard,” said Mike Ammann, Founder of 247GK, “I think the kids who came out this summer all showed me something special. I’ve been there and all this hard work puts them in a league of their own!”

What an honor to sit down and get to know the Greatest Womens Goalkeeper in the World, Karen Bardsley. A true California girl, born and raised in Santa Monica, attended California State University, Fullerton, finally in the 3rd round of WPS draft was selected by Sky Blue FC, where she currently plays. Despite such upbringing, Karen stood tall in goal for England last month when they upset the US. Interesting to find out what that was like.

Congratulations to the 2011 247GK Scholarship recipients, Bradon Horton and Colin Shutler. These two goalkeepers have been chosen based on their dedication to the position as well as their winning attitudes.

247GK is proud to announce that we have formed an exclusive agreement with Ashburn Soccer Club (ASC), www.ashburnsoccer.net, to become their official Goalkeeper trainer. “We have been looking for ways to expand our programs and jointly we have come up with programs that are going to benefit many goalkeepers in the Northern Virginia area,” said Mike Ammann, President of 247GK.

Congratulations to 247GK’s Bradon Horton and PJ Hasson for their victory this weekend as members of the 95′ Virginia Boys ODP Team. They soundly defeated Washington State 3-1 in the VYSA Youth Soccer National Championship held in Phoenix, Arizonia over the weekend.
